Transplant Anti-Infective Infusion Services

Recognition of the epidemiologic changes in immunocompromised
patients is critical to positive outcomes in transplant patient care.
InfuScience’s Optimal Transplant Support Team utilizes critical data to
assure safe and secure dispensing of appropriate anti-infective infusion
agents supporting and driving successful patient results. Critical data
elements include:

• Type of transplant patient (solid organ or stem cell transplant)
• Time out from transplant surgery
• History of prolonged exposure to anti-infective drugs
• Knowledge of the infecting pathogen and its typical
susceptibility patterns (antibiogram)
• Degree and stage of immunosuppression

InfuScience’s Transplant Immunotherapy Services

InfuScience’s clinical transplant team offers a critical support role in
the provision of IG therapy for transplant patients. Key components to
successful immunoglobulin transplant patient care include:

and indications to therapy
• Understanding of potential adverse reaction and prevention
strategies through evaluation of patient-specific risk factors for
therapy administration
• Consultation on IG product dosing and administration
considerations specific to: availability, labeled uses, maximum
concentration (%), IgA content, % gamma globulin, sodium
content, sugar content and osmolarity
• Therapy-associated costs and patient payer benefit
resource availability
Transplant Immunotherapies available include:
• Immunoglobulin (IGIV/SQIg) replacement therapy
• IG desensitization therapy
• CMV immune globulin prophylaxis
• Hep B IG prophylaxis

Additional transplant patient care and service resources include:
